Meet Our Team

  • Dr. Darren Stinson, DVM

    Darren is from Lively. He graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph in 1992. He was a member of the CVO, serving 6 years on the Discipline Committee and 6 years on the Complaints Committee. He has a special interest in Ophthalmology and General surgery.

    Dr. Stinson shares his home with  2 dogs, Louie the lab and a french bulldog named Lillee.  He spends his free time outdoors and has a passion for curling.

  • Dr. Marc Marin, DVM

    Marc is originally from Kapuskasing. He graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph in 1991. In June 1998 he and Dr. Stinson opened the Chelmsford Animal Hospital.  Dr. Marin has served as the CVO President and on the Executive Council.  His special interests include internal medicine.

    'As a veterinarian, I want to ensure pets are treated in a humane manner and I strive to reduce pain when treating, and also before, during and after surgery. Improving their quality of life is always my first concern.'

    Dr. Marin has 2 cats, Heidi and Lucy, and like most cats they have a peculiar personality.  He spends his free time with his wife and two daughters traveling and at the cottage.  His special interests and hobbies include woodworking, fishing, and golf.

  • Dr. Cara Yu, DVM

    Dr. Cara Yu Cara is originally from Caledon, relocated to Sudbury in 2002.  She graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph.  Cara has a special interest in internal medicine, surgery, dentistry and ultrasound.  She enjoys travel, hiking, sailing and any outdoor adventure!

  • Dr. Cassia Michel, DVM

    Dr. Cassia Michel was born and raised in Sudbury, and earned her undergraduate degree from Laurentian University. She graduated from the Veterinary Medicine program at the University of Guelph in 2020. Cassia is also a fur-mom to a border collie mix named Spirit and a cat named Oliver. She enjoys traveling, hiking and spending her free time with family, relaxing on Manitoulin Island

  • Connie, RVT
    Practice Manager

    Connie is a Registered Veterinary Technologist and our Practice Manager. She graduated in 1993 from the Veterinary Technology Program at St. Lawrence College in Kingston. She worked as a Veterinary Technician from 1993 until 2002 when she became the full- time Practice Manager at Chelmsford Animal Hospital.

    2018 marked her 20 year anniversary at the Chelmsford Animal Hospital and she has also been recognized by the OAVT for being a 25 year member!

    'As far back as I can remember, I was intrigued by animal, birds, reptiles and insects.  When I was a child my dresser drawers were almost always home to a lost or injured creature.  Although my parents were not always happy about how or where I housed my lost or injured friends, they were always extremely supportive of my love for them.  I feel so fortunate that I am able to have a career doing what I love and working with people that I enjoy being with on and off the job'

    Connie's zoo includes 3 cats Odie, Oliver and Lucy, and 2 horses 'Ava' and 'Remi'.  She spends her free time at the barn with the horses and with her husband at their cottage enjoying the outdoors.

  • Kathryn, RVT
    Assistant Manager / Patient Care Advocate

    athryn is a Registered Veterinary Technologist and is currently our Patient Care Advocate, Assistant Manager and Laser Safety Officer. She graduated from St. Lawrence College in 2000 with a diploma in Veterinary Technology. She gained experience while working at the Ontario Veterinary College performing anesthesia, research, as well as teaching and guiding students with their practical techniques. Kathryn joined our team in 2002.

    'I am very lucky to be in an environment where everyone enjoys working together, we have an amazing team here at the hospital.  Everyone shares the same passion for the people and their fur-babies.  I love the variety of interacting with clients and the different technical skills I utilize everyday.  We strive to ensure healthy pets and happy owners by practicing compassionate and progressive medicine.'

    Kathryn has an Irish Golden/Irish Setter dog named Briggs O'Darby, and an orange Maine Coon, Edwin

    Kathryn spends her free time with her husband and her two busy boys, enjoying the outdoors.  Winters are spent at the arena, skiing and snowmobiling. Summers are spent at the cottage, hiking, boating and swimming. She is also on the Chelmsford Animal Hospital Women’s Slo-Pitch baseball team.

  • Amanda RVT
    Registered Veterinary Technician

    Amanda joined our team in September of 2013.  She graduated from Northern College in June 2001 and is a Registered Veterinary Technicians.  Amanda has over 17 years of experience in the Veterinary field and has a passion for client education, surgery and emergency medicine.

    Amanda is mom to 2 young boys and 2 orange tabby cats named Zuma and Ace.

    Amanda enjoys reading and photography. She spends her time with family enjoying the outdoors. Spare time in the summer is enjoyed with her family in southern Ontario at the cottage, fishing, boating and swimming. 

  • Monique, RVT
    Registered Veterinary Technician

    Monique joined our team to enable her to broaden her skills in the veterinary dental field.  She is our dental technician who can educate clients on the dental procedures and benefits of oral health and the result is a happier, healthier pet.

    Monique has a spunky orange tabby kitty named AJ.  Monique spends her free time with family enjoying camping, hunting, fishing and the great outdoors!

  • Carly, RVT
    Registered Veterinary Technician

    Carly is a graduate of the Veterinary Technician program at Northern College.  Originally from Timmins, Carly relocated to the Greater Sudbury area to join our team.  Carly spends her free time outdoors enjoying the changing seasons of Northern Ontario!

  • Stacie, RVT
    Registered Veterinary Technician

    Stacie is a registered veterinary technician, originally from this area but lived and worked at a veterinary practice out west, for 8 years. She graduated from Northern College in 2011.  Stacie has a special interest in anesthesia and animal behavior. Her free time is spent enjoying family and outdoors. Stacie also has a kitty named Ziggy.

  • Taylor VT
    Veterinary Technician

    Taylor is a veterinary technician.  She graduated from College Boreal in 2020.  She has a special interest in dentistry.  Taylor has a special place in her heart for Chihuahuas.

  • Vanessa
    Receptionist

    Vanessa is a full time receptionist. She has extensive experience in customer service. Vanessa has also volunteered with DIBS Dog Rescue. She lives with a dog, Zepplin and a kitty named Noelle

  • Lianne
    Receptionist

    Lianne is a full time receptionist and newest member of our team.  She has previous experience in the veterinary field. Lianne is an avid plant enthusiast and fur-mom to dog, Ava and 2 cats, Blanchette and Fluffy
